The Summer Jazz Workshop will take place in Chioggia, close to Venice and on the seaside, from 21 to 28 July 2018. It is already in its 28th edition and is one of the most outstanding of its kind in Europe, a true training course held by extremely highly qualified musicians.

Veneto Jazz and The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music of New York, co-produce an eight-day workshop, as part of the Venezia Jazz Festival, in collaboration with some of the most prestigious Italian music conservatories.

The Workshop is open to students from all over the world (twenty different countries were represented in the 2017 edition) and provides a unique atmosphere, with eight days of full-time activities.

Students will have the great opportunity to study with excellent international jazz musicians and educators. The program boasts a renowned faculty: Rory Stuart – guitar;  Amy London – voice; Jeff Hirschfield – drums; Stefano Senni – double bass, Armen Donelian – piano; Billy Harper – sax; Ambrogio De Palma – Big Band and theory.

The Workshop will include daily instrumental master classes, three different levels of theory classes, several special topics, and rehearsals. The program culminates in a series of student big band and ensemble performances.

The Summer Jazz Workshop is organized by Veneto Jazz, as part of the Venezia Jazz Festival, in collaboration with Associazione Lirico Musicale Clodiense – Chioggia, Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism and the Veneto Region.
